Meredith Nemirov -- nature at its abstract finest
Born and raised in New York, Meredith Nemirov received her BFA from Parsons School of Design. In 1988 Nemirov moved to Ridgway Colorado and has focused on drawing and painting the landscape with an emphasis on patterns and line created by Nature. This change in environment brought a change of theme as Nemirov faced the mountains instead of the rush of humanity on the streets. She started painting the landscape and also focused on the aspen tree that she considers the figure in the landscape. She has taught classes for over a decade at The Ghost Ranch, Abiquiú, NM, at The Smithsonian Institution, The Pinhead Institute and the AhHaa School for the Arts in Telluride, CO, and through an NEA grant in Montrose, CO. Nemirov was an Artist in Residence at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, CO in 2008, and received a grant from the Vermont Studio Center for a residency in April 2010.
A local artist with nationwide recognition, Nemirov has spent a decade drawing and painting trees in the landscape. Her work has an Asian perspective but is totally modern. She combines traditional watercolor and oil painting with Japanese and Chinese techniques, often adding a layers of mixed media here and there.
This exclusive new offering of Nemirov prints will be in demand. Please call us if you love them as much as we do.
